Dry Stone Wall
This beautiful rug has been made from scratch directly from the fleece of a Welsh Mountain Badger-Faced sheep. This fleece was from a sheep of the classic colour form, the Torddu (pronounced “torthee”), being a mainly white sheep with a black belly and distinctive black facial markings.
After sorting and cleaning, the different parts of the fleece were carded and hand-spun separately to maintain the colours, and the resulting yarns were then woven on a traditional peg loom to produce a substantial rug with a unique abstract design. The size of the rug is approximately 3′ by 4′, with an additional fringe of cotton warp fibres.
